Program Assistant

Comfort Usman Kariko is a Program Assistant at the Rule of Law and Empowerment Initiative, also known as Partners West Africa Nigeria, Kaduna Office.​ She has a keen interest and expertise in Criminal justice reform and Conflict Resolution.

She is a fellow of the Women in Conflict 1325 Fellowship by Beyond Borders, Scotland and is trained in Conflict Analysis and Peace mediation by the United States Institute of Peace, Childs Rights Theory and Practice by Harvard Online and is also trained in fundraising for non-profits and in Project Management.​

She has implemented projects with a focus on Youth inclusion in Peacebuilding processes and Youth accountable participation in Governance. In her role as a Program Assistant, she engages in the provision of free legal services for human rights Defense and access to justice for SGBV Victims and also engages in research, capacity building and advocacy for the implementation of government policies such as United Nations Resolution 2250, Administration of Criminal Justice Act/Law.

Earlier in her career, she worked as an Independent Monitor with the World Health Organization and later as a State Monitor with the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Development Agency where she supervised the vaccination of children against the Wild Poliovirus and assessed Routine Immunization Coverage in Kaduna State.
She obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) from the University of Jos, Nigeria, a B.L from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja and is currently undertaking an MSc. Program on Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution at the National Open University of Nigeria.
